Department of Radiotherapy, Niguarda Hospital, Milan

Design and implementation 2016-2017

I went to the ARTe Association, Friends of Radiotherapy ( http://www.amicidellaradioterapia.it/) to draw up a project for the ward. I proposed to, transform through a a colour plan and a pictorial intervention on walls and ceilings. I proposed to transform a bare and indifferent hospital environment into an environment where patients, relatives and health workers are helped to live their experiences of care or work in a more positive spiritual way. or work experiences.

My project aimed to recognise, respect and support these personal of body and soul and soul, contributing to the recognition of the importance of an a different view of the hospital care space. A space which is used daily not only by the sick, but also by those who accompany them (who are often in a state of anxiety which is just as, if not more, intense), a space which is also a space of daily work for doctors, nurses, technicians and administrative staff.

As research in environmental psychology has shown, there is a strong interaction between the psychological dimension of people and the physical dimension of their environment. psychological dimension of people and the physical dimension of their environment.

The moments marked by the encounter with the disease and its treatment can only be moments of fragility, anxiety and suspension of daily life, but they can also be opportunities for change. changetransformation and discussion of one's spiritual horizons.
